The event, held at the Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino, attracted a massive field of 318 entries, making it the largest ever recorded for a Merit Poker High Roller.
Schwaederle's journey to the top was filled with challenges. He found himself with a short stack during the final table, but he managed to regain the chip lead after eliminating Xuming Qi from the competition. In the heads-up match, he outlasted Mohamed El-Wely, who was down to just four big blinds before being eliminated.
El-Wely, a player from Mohamed, Egypt, had a strong showing, eliminating Aren Bezhanyan from the final table to move into second place in chips. Bezhanyan, a player from Armenia, finished in third place, winning $155,000.
